After studying B.A. Audiovisual Production Management at RAU, majoring in Information Science and Journalism, Liézel joined the world of television as part of M-Net, DStv and kykNET’s New Media team where she remained for eight years working on some of South-Africa’s biggest reality shows.  Liézel joined Media24’s Beeld newspaper as multimedia journalist.  In 2013 she was awarded the Standard Bank Sikuvile Multimedia Journalist of the Year award for her multimedia project on burn survivor, Pippie Kruger.  In 2014 she was part of the Beeld-editorial team who won the Multimedia Project of the Year award for their multimedia coverage of Oscar Pistorius.

Liézel is currently the sole owner of Liézel Els Productions and is retainer photographer for the Reach for a Dream foundation’s office in Johannesburg.
